The Firm obtains Sunday Times correction for Karen Thomas-Bland
Thomson Heath & Associates is pleased to announce that Karen Thomas-Bland has reached a settlement with the Sunday Times regarding an article published on 29 November 2020. The article had wrongly stated that she had been dismissed by Mitie’s CEO from her role as Programme Integration Director. In fact, she had chosen to leave by her own volition to focus on new challenges. Given Ms Thomas-Bland’s experience as a successful businesswoman for over 23 years, it is unsurprising that she is able to, and chooses to, split her time between various non-executive director positions, interim executive and consulting roles for her corporate clients.
The Sunday Times agreed to publish a correction and to publicly apologise for their error. The correction was published in the Sunday Times on 3 January 2021 and continues to be available online here . The Sunday Times also agreed to pay damages to Ms Thomas-Bland for the distress she suffered as well as her legal costs.
Ms Thomas-Bland was represented by Graham Atkins and Moritz Schirmeister.
