Emily Jenkins
Partner and Director
Emily specialises in media litigation and has experience in matters of voicemail interception (phone hacking), breach of confidence, defamation, and the misuse of private information.
She is presently working on phone hacking claims on behalf of a large and growing number of litigants against both Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) and News Group Newspapers (NGN).
This follows her successful supporting role assisting in the MGN trial of March 2015 and its subsequent appeal of October 2015.
Emily has since been further developing expertise in this area, working with Mark Thomson, the former lead solicitor in the NGN litigation, assisting on disclosure issues and preparation for the trial against NGN.
In addition, she works closely with James Heath, lead solicitor in the MGN phone hacking litigation, developing and settling the claims of a number of high-profile clients.
In other areas of law, Emily has experience of matrimonial matters – working on behalf of Janet Jackson in the family courts – and in Intellectual Property.
Alongside this, Emily is part of the Victims of Crime team at Thomson Heath & Associates working on a number of stalking and harassment claims. Emily is also working with Mark Thomson on behalf of individuals taking action against the South Yorkshire Police for breach of privacy and the misuse of private information.
